Editor for self-help books and memoirs in the field of eating disorders and mental health. I wrote and edited articles, email newsletters, and press releases.  I was the Managing Editor of the newsletter Eating Disorders Today, a 15-page publication written by therapists for individuals in recovery and their loved ones. Other duties included creating marketing copy, book and flyer design, and coordinating with authors and cover designers.

Freelance Article Writer- South Coast Medical Center, Laguna Beach, CA, Summer 2008
Writer for medical and health related articles for the hospital’s magazine, South Coast Health, which is distributed to 50,000 people in the community. I created topic ideas, researched, and interviewed physicians. The articles provided information in plain language about clinical depression, how to improve communication with physicians, eye diseases, and promoting donations to the hospital.

I wrote and edited instructional text for driver-training handbooks, including tractor-trailers and emergency vehicles. The work included editing instructional material and worksheets for students, researching, writing vehicle simulation scenarios, using storyboards, and creating PowerPoint presentations. I also quality tested the computer-based training modules.
